Young pianist Philipp Kopachevsky was born on February 22, 1990 in Moscow. After finishing Central Music School in Moscow he entered in the Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory (S. Dorensky's class).
In spite of early age, Kopachevsky is a winner of various prestigious International Piano Competitions:
- XXII International Piano Competition «Le Muse» (Italy) - I prize;
- III International Competition for Young Musicians (Enschede, Netherlands) - I prize;
- II International Central Music School Competition (Moscow) - I prize, 2 special prizes and Maestro prize donated by M. Pletnev;
- I International «Vera Lotar-Shevchenko» Piano Competition (Novosibirsk, Russia) - I prize.
In the past years, he collaborated with such famous orchestras as English Chamber Orchestra (P. Watkins, M. Vengerov), Moscow New Opera Orchestra (E. Kolobov), State Symphony Orchestra (A. Gershfeld, USA), Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Maestro M. Rostropovich), Russian National Orchestra (M. Pletnev), Symphony Orchestra «New Russia» under Yuri Bashmet (E. Bushkov), Moscow State Symphony Orchestra under Pavel Kogan (A. Sidnev).
With unforgettable success Philipp participated in international music festivals: Andrei Sakharov Art Festival (Nizhniy Novgorod), in memoriam of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko (Novosibirsk), Steinway Piano Festival (USA), International Rostropovich Festival (Baku), «Crescendo» (Kaliningrad).
He performed also in Germany, Greece, Holland, Great Britain, France, USA, Poland and Japan and in many Russian cities.
In Moscow he already played in all the most prominent halls - Great Hall, Small Hall and Rachmaninov Hall of Moscow Conservatory and Tchaikovsky Hall.
In 2006 he recorded for NHK a first CD with Chopin works.
