Born in Northern Ireland, she lives in Spain. She sang as soloist with many orchestras around the world, like the BBC Symphony, Lyon National, Prague Philharmonia, BBC Philharmonic, Berlin Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Budapest Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, NDR Hannover, Norway Radio Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Armenian Philharmonic, Salzburg Chamber and Slovak Philharmonic. She sang with most of the Spanish orchestras, like National, Bilbao, ORTVE, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, under conductors as Jiri Belohlávek, Sir Colin Davis, Támas Vásáry, Juanjo Mena, John Nelson, Adam Fischer, Josep Pons, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Lawrence Foster, Eduard Topchjan, Uri Segal, Jun Märkl, George Pehlivanian and Ari Rasilainen. In opera she took part in productions of the ROH Covent Garden in London, Hamburg Opera, London Opera Ensemble and Foundation Gulbenkian in Lisbon. She has sung in Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Greece, Israel, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Armenia, Slovakia, Cyprus, United States and Canada.

She sang in 5 gala concerts in Switzerland with tenor Neil Schicoff, with scenes from Carmen and Werther. With the legendary soprano Edita Gruberova has sung many times, like in Cologne, Baden-Baden, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, in a Duo Gala at Bratislava Festival, and also in 5 performances of Beatrice di Tenda by Bellini in Hamburg Opera. Zandra McMaster sang in the world premiere of the Missa Solemnis by Leopold Mozart, with the Budapest Symphony Choir and Orchestra. In 2012 Zandra McMaster sung First Mezzo in Mahler's Eight Symphony with the Spanish National Orchestra in Madrid, and in the world premiere of the Cantata Mater Amabilis composed for her by Carles Guinovart. In August 2013 she gave a recital in the Festival Chopin in Valldemossa, with songs by Antón García Abril. Recent concerts were with Orquesta Filarmonía in Madrid, Armenian Philharmonic, Helsinki Philharmonic, concerts in Sligo Festival in Ireland, Madrid and Berlin with the Vogler Quartet, BBC Philharmonic, Spanish National Orchestra, RTVE Orchestra, Oviedo Filarmonia and Malaga Symphony. She has recorded in CD Lucia de Lammermoor by Donizetti with Edita Gruberova and Josep Bros for Nightingale; Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with Lyon National Orchestra and Jun Märkl for Altus; a Recital with Songs by Spanish composer Antón García Abril, and the First Mezzo in Mahler's Eight Symphony with the Spanish National Orchestra and Josep Pons in DVD for Deutsche Grammophon.
