Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (Bandoneon) , Italy
Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi - one of the leading bandoneon players of the world. Mario was born in Atessa on December 26th, 1980. When he was 9 years old he started studying Accordion and after Bandoneon playing. In 2007 Pietrodarchi graduated with honours from the National Academy “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, Italy.
Brillant performer of refined musicality, Pietrodarchi has won lots of national and international competitions. In the years 2001-2003 he participated in theater projects in collaboration with an actress Daniela Scarlatti. On June, 2002 he was invited as a guest to the "Premio Barocco", being broadcasted live on Rai1 TV Channel, playing for the famous singer Antonella Ruggiero. On October of the years 2003-2004-2005 Mario played as a soloist in concerts with the Italian International Orchestra in China and Korea. In 2005 Pietrodarchi collaborated with the Teatro dell’Opera of Rome and the Opera and Symphonic Foundation “Petruzzelli of Bari” for the staging of the Opera “Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny “ by Kurt Weill directed by J. Webb. On January, 2008 Pietrodarchi recorded the Soundtrack for the movie “Quiet Chaos” by Antonello Grimaldi, starring Nanni Moretti, music by Paolo Buonvino. In 2008 he took part in the 58th San Remo Festival.
Besides the activity as a concert artist in Italy, he performed in England, France, Belgium, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, U.S.A., Portugal, Finland, Switzerland, Canada, Armenia, Russia and China.
